Federal Estate Tax Exclusion for 2022

Our Projection

Based on the Chained CPI for Sep 2020 - Aug 2021, we are projecting that the 2022 exclusion will be $12,060,000.  Of course, this is subject to confirmation by the IRS Rev. Proc. normally released in late October or early November every year, and to any new tax legislation that Congress may pass in the near future.  In your current version of NumberCruncher, enter a Death Date in 2022 and an Inflation Rate for Exclusion of 3.1%.  This will change the exclusion to $12,060,000.  If you check the box for "Potential Sunset in 2022?", this will cut that exclusion in half to $6,030,000.
